Tossin’ It Out There: Which Movie Character Would YOU Elect Leader

With the release of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, my natural inclination was to have this week’s discussion topic be “Who was your favorite movie President”. But that’s such a narrow field of movies, I think it would have really made for a lame thread…

Instead, I thought, well what if people could elect anybody? You could take any character from any movie for any reason, and have like a write-in-ballot for them for the greatest office in your respective countries… President, Prime Minister, etc.

I certainly don’t wish to devolve this into a political debate, but who would you elect, and why? What characteristics do they have that you think would lend to them making a good ruler? If you were campaigning for them, how would you sell others on your candidate?

Maybe you’d like to see John McClane in office, due to his fortitude and courage, or maybe you’d like to see Judy Dench’s M get a promotion. Maybe you’d like to see The Dude in charge! Morgan Freeman was President once already in movies (Deep Impact), perhaps you’d like to see him get re-elected!

Whoever it is, let’s hear it! Which movie character would YOU like to elect leader?

  1. ooooo Morgan Freeman is a good one but I’d have to go with Jack McCoy from Law & Order (may it rest in peace)

    either that or Adam West

  2. Professor Xavier perhaps could be good. Intelligent man and he has some good people and leadership skills…
Bruce Wayne would be a good choice also because he’s rich and good money management skills and has a great sense of justice…

    • He DOES have people skills alright. I can just picture him at like the G8 summit using his telepathy, ending a lot of problems.

Bruce Wayne is the type of person that would actually BE president. He would have the funds to run, you know?

    • LOL. (dueling banjos IS playing in my head right now)

My only beef Dave? That’s like the one movie where he had no mustache!

Can he grow the mustache for the Oval Office? If so, he has my support :D

  3. Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill. She get sh*t done. LOL And you know my motto: bitches be crazy, you gotta be crazy to go into politics.

    • Bitches be crazy.

Of course, how could I forget. That busted me up when you posted it, I was laughing pretty hard.

She’d be cool now that has her kid, I think. She wouldnt be quite the mad dog… I still wouldnt want to mess with her though!!

  4. I would go with Morgan Freeman, he stays calm in an awkward or troubled situation. I have done a post asking which movie family would you want to join you should check it out.

    • Yeah, he’d be great. He’d totally be a very calming influence… I think he’d make a great leader, for sure. He’s been a popular pick today, I think a couple of people have mentioned him!

  5. DIRK DIGGLER!!! “What can you expect when you’re on top? You know? It’s like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it’s history repeating itself all over again.”

    • He comes with an obvious VP Candidate in Chest Rockwell, he has the household name already… might have some electibilty issues though, LOL

But I can see a big campaign sign for him…I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign – it just blows up because the name is so powerful… It says, “Dirk Diggler.”
      :D

  6. Another person who woud make an interesting leader would be Michael Corleone. If anyone got in his way they would swim with the fishes. But if you needed something he’d make you an offer you can’t refuse.

    • I think Social Programs might take a pretty big beating though. LOL

I might lean more towards Vito, myself, just because he could whack out the enemies, but he’d still have that big heart to help the neighborhood.

    • :D

I love that fact that the ratio of “serious replies” to “what are you, kidding me” replies on this topic is like 50/50

I’m a big fan of Psycho, too, but that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard yet. I think I’d like to see those campaign commercials though.

I’m envisioning him kissing the guns in the mirror. “Bateman 2012″ LOL!!
