The Great Debates: Which “Toy Story” Movie is the Best? – THE WINNER IS…

Last week I put up this month’s “Great Debate”. The subject was the “Toy Story” trilogy, in an attempt to determine which of the three movies was people’s favorite.

The results are in, and we have a clear-cut winner. Our first true blow out of the series…

Click through to see who won!

Toy Story (1995)

The original is still the champ. With 52% of the vote (30 out of 57), the first chapter of the trilogy reigns supreme. Almost everyone who commented painted the decision as a difficult one, but at the end of the day, people consistently chose “Toy Story” over its successors.

People cited the introduction to the characters, nostalgia, and the ground breaking animation style. Don’t take my word for it, though! To the victors go the spoils, and here’s what the people who voted for “Toy Story” had to say!

Glad we could all have some fun discussing this series together through this post. The adventures of Woody, Buzz and the gang are really something specialĀ for movie fans to cherish.

Thanks to everyone who voted and commented up! We’ll do it again next month!

    • I thought it would have been a lot closer than it was, but what happened is – pretty much everyone said what a difficult choice it was… and then went in the same direction, with number 1. LOL. That’s how it wound up running away with it. :(

  1. Toy Story for the win!

I still laugh thinking about so many of the memorable quotes in that film. haha

Mr. Potato Head: Hey, a laser! How come *you* don’t have a laser, Woody?
    Woody: It’s not a laser! It’s a…
    [sighs in frustration]
Woody: It’s a little light bulb that blinks.
    Hamm: What’s with him?
    Mr. Potato Head: Laser envy.

    • I believe the word you’re looking for is “Space Ranger”. :D

Love that flick. Happy it won, but the other two are still awesome…

I loved when Mr Potato Head got Mrs Potato Head. That was wicked funny.

  2. NOo-o-o-o! TOY STORY whenever you rewatch is nowhere near as confident as the sequels. And TOY STORY 3 copies lots of plot devices from TOY STORY 2 (The Bear and Stinky Pete play same roles). So I throw in TOY STORY 2. And I love Jessies song.

    • Toy Story 2 is great too. When I saw how much support it was getting in the Top 10 Pixar thread, that’s when I decided to give this a go!

But it fell short, sadly. :( The original is a great movie Simon. People still love it to death, no doubt about it!
