Tossin’ It Out There – Is there an actor or actress that you can’t stand?

Not that this topic was inspired by any particular movie this weekend…

But via the comments it did cross my mind that there are certain actors and actresses that people just can’t stand. Whether or not they can act, or if they choose poor parts, whatever it is… some people just establish this reputation for being widely reviled.

Kristen Stewart comes immediately to mind. It seems as though there are legions of people who can’t stand her. Adam Sandler, too. His recent run of movies has created an enormous backlash.

But it doesn’t have to be anything rational, or popular, if there’s someone you really don’t like, let’s hear it! Maybe… Charlize Theron bugs you or something. Everyone seems to love her, and that adds fuel to the fire for you. LOL. Seriously whoever it is, for whatever reason… if you can’t stand, let ‘em have it!

Is there an actor or actress YOU can’t stand?

  1. Ryan Gosling. Shia TheBeef. The 3 Twilight Principles. Cannot stand any of them. Especially Gosling, since he’s everywhere, in everything, that everyone says you should see. I went against my No-Gosling instincts and watched “Driver”. After the credits were done rolling, it was like being hooked up to Count Rugen’s machine for 2 hours.

I don’t know why I’m bothering, but I’d like to point out that Ryan Reynolds (and everyone else) was fantastic in “Waiting…” and what happened to Deadpool wasn’t his fault. He probably should have taken some kind of stand against that happening at the ending… but so should’ve Hugh, Liev, and pretty much everyone involved with the movie.

Also, to make sure I get even more licks from the FAH-Q paddle, “Adventureland” was terrible. Martin Starr was the only redeeming thing about that movie, IMHO.

    • LOL!!! Damn man!! :D

Ok. I agree. Martin Starr was great in Adventureland. LOL :D But I thought everyone was pretty good, for a decent coming of age type drama.

Ryan Reynolds has bigger issues than Deadpool, I think. Explain away “The Change Up” ;) But he’s had his moments. I dont particularly hate him, myself. I really like Van Wilder…

You didnt like Drive, huh? You must hate Gosling. That movie was great. Movie bloggers everywhere – including myself – went nuts for it. :D Made my top ten.

  2. Dane Cook, Kristen Stewart, Sam Worthington, Hayden Christiensen, Chelsea Handler, Tyler Perry, Katherine Heigel, Blake Lively, Jennifer Westfeldt, Adam Sandler (who can go die in a pit).

I’d go on about each of these, but then I’d probably be taking over your blog.

    • HEH! Hasn’t stopped anyone else… LOL

There’s some good ones in there. In all honesty, I’ve never watched a Tyler Perry product. I’ve just stayed away because you could smell the stink from afar. :D This weekend I hit “Alex Cross”, but that’s setting off my bad movie alarm, too. We’ll see.

Sam Worthington is a nice addition to today’s list of annoyances. LOL. Pretty surprised no one’s mentioned him before this!

  3. The first ones that come to mind are Sam Worthington and Meryl Streep. Worthington just doesn’t have any screenpresence to me and although Streep is a good actress there is something about her which makes me feel uncomfortable.

    • Yeah, she’s off the radar now for sure. She was just the “It Girl” for a little while. She actually had some talent… I think “Clueless” is pretty funny, actually. But she wasn’t good enough as an actress to survive the “cut down” (That point in time when actresses stop getting roles just cause theyre young and hot, and the only ones that still get work are the ones who can really act) :D

  4. Kristen Stewart and Adam Sandler are definitely contenders Fogs. Can’t stand either of them. I also have a fehement hatred for Reece Witherspoon and Renee Zellweger. Two very overrated actresses.

    • I have no issues with Reese, she’s had her moments, so she doesnt bother me.

Renee Zellweger though… I cant even look at her. Her face is a train wreck of plastic. She’s had so much work done that now she needs work done. LOL. It’s rough. Its literally ruined movies for me that she’s been in.

    • Julia has been brought up on several occasions here today, so… I guess I just never knew there were so many people that dont like her.

Leo, though? And Will Smith? Ehhhh… alright, I can see Will Smith. Even though he’s super popular, if the charm isn’t working for you, its not working.

Still, Leo? He’s one of the best actors out there, man!

Still blaming him for Titanic? :D

      • Yeah whenever I see Leo I just think of Titanic lol…

I don’t HATE the man, but I often think “oh wow, couldn’t they get another guy?”!

  5. Yeah, plenty…but of course I can’t think of any when put on the spot (damn you, Fogs!). That said, I don’t think there are any actors that would PREVENT me from seeing a movie just based on them being it. Well, maybe Adam Sandler…

  6. I only glanced through this discussion…enough to catch the names mentioned in each entry…I only read completely if the name meant anything to me. But now I will freely admit after seeing K-Stew mentioned a bazillion times…..I had to look her up…..I had no idea who the F**k she was. hahaha

  7. Damn look at all the hate …. ;-) I assume Kristin Stewart and Shia Labeouf are already well represented. So how about Brendan Fraiser and Rob Schneider?

  8. I am absolutely SHOCKED that no one has mentioned Anne Hathaway. My girlfriend keeps insisting on her movies. Everything she’s in is just so annoying, bland, and……snore zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
