Happy 2013, everyone! 2012 is officially in our rearview mirror!
Now is the time to look back at the year that was. Everyone everywhere is posting their end of the year best and worsts and top tens (I’ll be posting my plans tomorrow), and I figured I’d give FMR commenters their say!
What was YOUR favorite movie of 2012? Didn’t have to be seen in the theatre… but, let’s stick with the 2012 releases, though!
It was a huge year for movies. My top 10 list could easily (very easily) be a top 15. Somewhere along the line some excellent movies are going to fail to make the cut. How about you though? What was YOUR favorite? I know some people will be anxious to share more than one, that’s fine, feel free. But I’d like to hear everyone’s opinions on the best movies of the year, so let’s have ‘em!
What was YOUR favorite Movie of 2012?
Hmm… I’m still waiting to answer this question because there are a few major films I haven’t seen (i.e. Django, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty), but right now I’m leaning toward The Master. Some pretty stiff competition this year, though.
Crazy competition. “The Master” is struggling to retain its spot in my top ten as we speak. Its a crowded crowded field, and I have to say… for me that one’s right on the cusp of falling into honorable mention category.
Holy Motors, without a doubt.
Damnnn. I gotta see that movie!
Think my #1 spot has been taken by Django Unchained, just an excellent film. Other top contenders are The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods however.
Django muscled its way into my top ten, for sure, and Avengers has been comfortably sitting there since May.
Cabin though, I enjoyed, but was never as impressed by as others were

It’s between End of Watch and Looper. Honorable mentions go to Headhunters, The Raid and Ruby Sparks.
Yeahhh I’ve been seeing this “Headhunters” movie pop up in occasion, here and there as people are making out their best lists. I’m gonna have to check that out.
Meanwhile, if I could put my finger on those scales and tilt the balance in favor of Looper, I would. LOL
Headhunters is great mystery/action…just be careful you don’t see the dubbed version – then it becomes a comedy.
