Last week I put forward the question: Which of these two iconic Harrison Ford characters would you choose, Indiana Jones or Han Solo?
The votes are in, the poll is closed, it’s time to formally announce the winner.
Click through to see who won!
By a two to one margin (65.93% vs 34.07%), FMR voters selected Indiana Jones as the winner!
I personally thought the results would be much closer, but I’ve seen many times that a “tough call” can turn into a landslide when many people narrowly land on the same decision.
As usual here, to the victors go the spoils, so let’s see what some of the Indy voters had to say!
Well, there you have it folks! Dr. Jones trumps Han Solo by a 2 to 1 margin!
Was justice served? Anyone feeling robbed? Let us hear it!
We’ll be back soon with another edition of The Great Debates to put you to yet another difficult decision!

lol thanks for leading with my vote ;p
It was the Anti-Star Wars raving.
Wanted everyone to see it!
If I receive more death threats than usual, I’ll know why.
Good ol, Indy!
truly a great debate!
Thanks T! Yeah, I thought it was a good one… Results were a little skewed, but still.
Awwwww! Poor Han. I feel like I always vote for the loser in these things….
Indy’s still awesome though. I’m not as upset with him winning as Han losing. Someone’s gotta win though….
LOL… The “Hunter Jinx”? I’ll have to keep an eye out for that!
Yeah baby!
Gene Gosewehr: Happy with the results.
Thanks for using my comment!
I’m happy that Indy won!
Thank YOU for commenting!
Hi, Fogs:
No real rigid competition in a solid franchise (The first three films) from an era of opulence and the best parts of Saturday afternoon serials.
Mmm Star Wars was a solid franchise too though.
I thought the voting would be tighter, myself, actually.
What? Bullshit. Solo’s the man. lol
Uh oh. Film Hipster calls BS! Lol
It’s not the years, it’s the mileage.
Love that line.
Good one, Andrew:
Deft catch on a great ad libbed line!
The like button has been loading for 10 minutes. So I’m leaving a ‘LIKE’ note instead. Looks like my pick was on that winning landslide.
Have you seen The Thirteenth Floor? If so what did you think? If not, and if you watch it, post a review. I’m curious about your reaction to the film.
I haven’t. Is that something new? Don’t think I’ve heard of it…
It was older. 1999. Nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film in 2000. I couldn’t decided if it was an under appreciated murder mystery or slightly to predictable for something that was trying to come off as layered and complex. Or else I made a really good guess very early in the film and and never recovered from that point.
Sorry to say, I haven’t seen it. And with the focus on new reviews here, I doubt I’ll write it up here, you know?
Deserved!
I guess… I don’t think Han deserved to get beat that bad though, lol
Hmmm, not sure how I feel. I certainly can’t boo Indy. But I still lean towards Han. That said I think Indy won when I pitted the two against each other last year.
I think he’d probably win everywhere except a Star Wars fan site, LOL. I think he’s just the more beloved character, you know?
I voted for Indy, but I expected the race to be a lot tighter. Well either way, the winner would be deserved. They’re both awesome characters.
I’ve found out that no matter how tough the choice is… It can still turn into a blowout. If everyone says “Oh god, that’s a TOUGH decision” and then votes the same way anyways, that winds up leading to a blowout.
Well you have to remember that Han is a stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder, so it is not a big surprise Indy won.
Scruffy Looking? Who’s scruffy looking?
Nice, the right man won!
…
… and lost, too. Huh, funny how that works.
Yup, that’s the double edged sword of these things, isn’t it.
I guessed that this would happen, it’s still surprising that Indy won by such a way though. Great question!
Thanks James. Yeah, turned into much more of a landslide than I was expecting, too. I guess people love them their Indy, man!
