  1. This podcast has mainly reminded me that there are a lot of (probably) pretty poor films about to come out.

And glad that someone else mentioned the hokey plot for Pacific Rim… it’s going to look great and fanboys will cream themselves over it… and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen… but I have a fear that it’s basically just a dumb story.

    But nice work guys!

    • Thanks Mark. I’m actually pretty psyched for Pacific Rim, even if it is going to be just big robots fighting big monsters. 2 hours of that if its done with great VFX, would make me pretty happy. LOL :D

Let’s hope this summer crop lives up to its best potential, and not out worst expectations!

  2. another solid pcast and great idea for a summer draft since (esp with anomalousmaterial forgoing TY movie draft); will be interested to see how each of you fare.

note to Tank: what the heck is “caressing the script” ? -LOL :-)

    • LOL!!! Thats funny. I dont know what that means, myself, S. :D

Yeah, it was a fun idea. It was fun to record. Figured we’ll give it a go and see how it winds up… I know it was fun doing it at least. :D

    • Some times my mouth says something before my brain computes. I forget what it was in context too. But caressing the script is the act of movie the story along to get point A to point B? (Pause) I got nothing

  3. Loved the draft. I’ll put on my Mel Kiper hat for a minute.

BEST PICK: Iron Man 3. Obvious yes, but it can be easy to overthink these things.

BEST VALUE: Great Gatsby. Latter round pick-up that I think will be the biggest “counter-programming” hit of the summer. Every woman I know (more or less) plans to go see this movie.

WORST PICK: Sorry Fogs, I think Lone Ranger went too high. It’s got “John Carter” written all over it.

BEST PICK LEFT IN THE POOL: Now You See Me. May release, good cast, nothing big following it until Man of Steel a couple weeks later.

PICK TO WIN: Fogs, Iron Man 3 is just too big. Tank a close second.

    • Ok, A) Glad we turned it into a good listen. LOL That’s ALWAYS the intention, but not always the outcome. :D

Now You See Me may very well have been a late round pick that slipped through the cracks. Hopefully I’m wrong and its really, really good, cause I want that movie to be awesome!

Lone Ranger does have John Carter written all over it, but I dont have to worry about budget or flop, just $. Fourth of July weekend, Johnny Depp, Disney behind it… I’m seeing decent value for a third round pick. ;)

We’ll see if Gatsby rakes it in or not. I dont think its a slam dunk, though obviously there’s a lot of upside.

Meanwhile, the X Factor is just how big Man of Steel gets K2. If it’s an enormous hit, I think Tanski’s winning. If its just a plain old “big” hit, I may just take home the (no) prize. ;)

      • Maybe. I love me some Supes, but I just don’t see it beating IM3 with Stark getting a month and a half head start. Even if it does, I slightly like your lower round picks more than Tank’s.

      • To me it’s not the month and a half headstart as much as the upmteen prequels if you count the entire Marvel-verse now.

Still, there’s a part of me that thinks the world wants a great Superman movie really, really, really badly. And if a studio ever delivers one, it’ll be ’78 all over again 8O

  4. It was nice to hear another fellow blogger on the show with Terrence. Good job you guys.

Also, I’m pretty sure Tank has the win in the bag.

    • He has a solid team, I’m not gonna lie. We’ll have to see though, it’s anybody’s game at this point.

Was nice to have T on. Joe, too. I’ve done a handful of shows with him now… Good to finally get him on TPMP :D
