Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Best Blog!

Best Blog

Wow. 8O

It’s been an incredible week or so, here. And now there’s no ifs ands or buts left. FMR has just been awarded the Big Kahuna of the Lammys, Best Blog for 2013.

I understand that a lot of people would presume it was a foregone conclusion considering the run of success leading up to it, but in all honesty, I sweated it out to the very last second. I’m honored, grateful, stunned still, and relieved now… It’s amazing. I’m having trouble processing it.

I’m blown away by the success I’ve had this award season. It means a lot to me to see that so many people are willing to cast votes for me across the boards. I honestly had no idea I had that much support out there. THANK YOU ALL, IT’S AN INCREDIBLE HONOR!

I’m happy to put this behind us now, cause I’ve certainly been asking a lot of people these past couple of days. I know that all these posts have tested the bounds, but I think the Lammys are worth celebrating, and I just… didn’t expect to be celebrating so much! 8O Tomorrow we’ll resume our regularly scheduled content, honest.

Congratulations also to Runner Up And So it Begins, and to all the other nominees: 3 Guys, 1 Movie, The Velvet Café, The Droid You’re Looking For, French Toast Sunday, Man I love Films, Flixchatter, Cinematic Corner and The Cinematic Katzenjammer!

Thanks also to Stevee Taylor of Cinematic Paradox (and friend :D ) for making a very fun presentation video (below)!

Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Best Reviewer!

Lammy-111The remarkable run of 2013 Lammy Awards continues on for FMR. Earlier today, I was awarded the Lammy Award for Best Reviewer.

Obviously, movie reviews are the heart and soul of most movie blogs, and to be awarded “Best Reviewer” is a very prestigious honor, to me… I’m incredibly honored, and very flattered. I’m never afraid to make my reviews personal, and I occasional try to make them experimental. LOL I’m thrilled that people think of them so highly!

Thanks to everyone who voted for me, I’ve been astonished by the results all week… Thank you everyone for your patience through this as well, I realize that this celebratory many posts are a test of patience, I really do.

Congratulations to Runner Up Alex Withrow of And So it Begins, and to all the other nominees: Jessica of The Velvet Café, Mark Walker of Marked Movies, Lady Sati of Cinematic Corner, Tyson Carter of Head in a Vice, Dan of Dan the Man’s Movie Reviews, Dan Heaton of Public Transportation Snob, Nick Powell of The Cinematic Katzenjammer, and Chris Thompson of Terry Malloy’s Pigeon Coop. Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy for Best Community Builder!

LammyThe Lammy parade rolls on, here at FMR, and this time, it’s an award I coveted very much… the 2013 Lammy for Best Community Builder.

The reason I hold this one in such high esteem is that it’s easy to invert the title slightly and come away with “Best Community”. It only stands to reason that the Best Community Builder would have built the Best Community, no?

And I think the commenting community here IS the best. Second to none. Week in and week out, people share their thoughts and feelings on movies here in impressive numbers. There is some really high quality movie discussion going on, whether it’s after a review about a particular film, or in a Tossin’ It Out There, about a variety of movie related subjects. I’ve gotten to know many of you through this, and it’s been a been an absolute pleasure talking movies with you all. I owe you all for this one, whether you voted or not.

This is an award I’m proud to share with everyone, I’m so grateful that you all choose to discuss movies here so regularly!! *sniff*

Congratulations also go to Ruth at Flixchatter, who was runner-up, and to Jessica at The Velvet Cafe, Nick at The Cinematic Katzenjammer, and Tyson at Head in a Vice!

The presentation video (below) was done by Joel Burman, the Shepherd of the Lamb, so a big thanks to him, as well!!

Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Most Knowledgeable Blogger

LammyHello again, everybody. My apologies, in advance, I realize that these announcements are overwhelming the regularly scheduled content here (my MTESS post today is looking extremely doubtful), and I’m sure they’re more than tedious for people, but I feel obliged to treat each of these awards as something very special, and to show my gratitude for receiving them. So please bear with me here for a couple more posts. This year’s Lammy season has become unexpectedly fruitful here for FMR.

Last night, I was awarded the 2013 ”Most Knowledgeable” Lammy by the LAMB. It’s a tremendous honor, and I’m sincerely flattered, especially considering how many extremely knowledgeable film fans the LAMB has in its community!

I want to thank everyone who voted, and give a big congratulations to the other nominees, too. So congratulations to Runner-Up Alex Withrow of And So It Begins, Bonjour Tristesse, Sam Fragoso of Movie Mezzanine, and Dan Heaton of Public Transportation Snob. Last year I attended San Diego Comic-Con and kept the readers here up to date with several posts a day worth of pictures and recaps, trying to capture the spirit of the event. I also live-tweeted as well as my phone reception would allow! Now all of that hard work has paid off! :D

I thought I’d let everyone know, and publicly thank everyone who cast a vote for me. The results were, again, very close. Only four votes separated FMR from Runner-Up Bonjour Tristesse. So to everyone who voted for FMR, an enormous thank you!!
