It’s time for another episode of The (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs!
In our box office round-up, we have plenty to say about the disastrous performance of “John Carter”, and then for our featured reviews, we discuss “21 Jump Street”, and “Casa di me Padre”.
Inspired by “Casa de mi Padre”, our featured discussion this week is focused on the career of Will Ferrell. Tank and I break down our impressions of him and discuss our opinions on most of not all of his major roles. From his days on SNL through the huge successes of “Anchorman” and “Talladega Nights”, we go over it all!
So be sure to check it out, you don’t want to miss hearing Tank try to speak Spanish!
First off, I’d like to thank everyone here who supported me in last month’s Movie of the Month Champions contest over at the Large Association of Movie Blogs (The Lamb). With your votes, not only was “Blade Runner” victorious, but the poll recorded more votes than it ever had previously. We set the new record… I believe that just shy of 200 people wound up voting. I’m really really grateful that so many of you went out of your way to help me out by voting, and I needed to lead this post with a huge THANK YOU.
To the victor go the spoils! And in this case, that means a full podcast on one of my favorite movies of all time, Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner”. Lambcast host Dylan Fields of Man I Love Films, Steve Honeywell of 1001Plus, Max Covill of Impassioned Cinema, and I break down the movie – what makes it great, what place it holds in cinema, what our favorite parts and characters are, what we think of the numerous different versions, a breakdown of the themes, etc. It’s a very thorough discussion, covering one of the greatest films of all time. I think it came out really well.
If you’d like to listen to this episode, you can stream it and/or download it directly to your computer here, on the Lamb’s podomatic page. You can also search for it on iTunes under the Lambcast. I hope you listen, and hope you enjoy. I know that I had a great time recording it, and look forward to being able to do more Lambcasts in the future with my fellow Lamb members!
Hello and welcome to another episode of The (title pending) Movie Podcast!
In this episode, the Tanker and I go over the Oscars. The winners, the losers, the show… We review how our predictions stacked up, share our thoughts on Billy Crystal a bit, and Tank calls me a prude for not approving of the Bridesmaids job as presenters.
We also go over the weekly Box Office results in our Box Office roundup. There, I share my thoughts on Amanda Seyfried’s “Gone”, and “Act of Valor”.
For our featured review this week, we have the Paul Rudd Jennifer Aniston comedy “Wanderlust”, the story of two New Yorkers who find their way to living in a hippie commune! Will we see eye to eye?
A big thanks to everyone who gave our Facebook page a like this week, and I appreciate everyone who’s moved their comments and feedback there! You all rule!
Hello, and welcome to another edition of The (title pending) Movie Podcast! Sorry we’re late this week folks, it’s on me, I haven’t been up to my usual YAH! strength.
In this week’s episode, the Tankster and I break down a very surprising week at the box office, then go into our featured reviews of the week - “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”, and “This Means War”!
But the prime real estate here is our Oscar preview… Mr Tanski and I go over all the major categories, breaking down the contenders and making our predictions! We also cover the “who we’d like to win even though they dont have much of a chance”s. Call it our Oscar Preview Special, if you will.
As always, it’s an entertaining podcast full of movie related goodness from your hosts, Tank and Fogs. You can download or play the episode directly from our Buzzsprout page HERE, or search for us and/or subscribe on iTunes!
I wanted to bring your attention to a guest spot that I did on my friend Fredo’s podcast, “Film Yarn”.
When he invited me on, I suggested that we bring Brian Roan of Dear Film.net, as well. See, the plan was to discuss “The Grey”, and Brian had a rather unique experience with the movie. He did an early review thanks to catching a screening, and he wrote a strongly favorable review. Well, as it turns out, the director of the movie, Joe Carnahan, got a look at the review and was so impressed that he began tweeting about it.
I figured, hey, that’s a heck of a story to share, plus the three of us did a Lambcast together on the Muppets, so, we should invite him!
Well, through Brian’s connection to Joe Carnahan he was able to bring the podcast to Joe’s attention, and he listened to it! Then he tweeted us some feedback on it! I was floored!
If you’d like to hear it, you can find it here, but I would warn we go FULL OUT SPOILERS. So if you havent seen “The Grey” you might want to circle back after you do!
Another episode of The (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank & Fogs is available for you to download!
In this episode, we go over two of the big Holiday releases this season… “The Adventures of Tintin” and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”! I also quickly touch on a couple of other big movies out now that I had a chance to see, “We Bought a Zoo” and “War Horse” :D!
After a couple of guest hosting gigs, it felt GREAT to be “home” on the (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs!
This episode we break down three movies out in theatres now… “The Sitter” with Jonah Hill, the second installment of Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes franchise, “Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows” and the blockbuster action movie, “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”.
Listen in for a great discussion on those flicks, plus advice on how to save money on your taxes, how to help your kids find the self-respect to stand up to bullies, plus the real reason science can’t isolate the Higgs Boson (God) Particle!!
Ok, none of that other stuff… but you know what you’re getting! It’s (title pending) awesomeness! You can download it directly, by clicking here, or search for us on iTunes! CHECK IT OUT!! :D
I had the honor and the privilege of being on The Lambcast!
The Lambcast is the official podcast of the Large Association of Movie Blogs, which boasts over 1,100 movie site members, and I’m proud to be a part of it. :D
I had the good fortune to be on Facebook at the exact time they posted up that they were looking for someone to fill an open spot, and I hopped all over it. LOL.
Anyone want to guess what the topic movie was? LOL. I’ll give you a hint!
Check it out, it’s already being called “In Depth” and “Classic”. Ok, well, those are just tweet excerpts back and forth from the people who were participants on it, but I didn’t say them at least. LOL!! :D I do have to say though in all honesty, I think it came out really well, and it was seriously cool to be a part of a podcast I listen to myself (even prior to getting started in this crazy movie blogging thing).
Ok folks. It’s not Tanski and I’s fault that Hollywood decided last weekend wasn’t suitable for any new releases!
That’s not going to stop us from podcasting, though, Hell no!!
So in this episode of the “(Title Pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs”, we do a run down of our 10 favorite movies of all time. You’ll get a better feel for the movies we love - a little bit of “get to know your hosts” if you will - and along the way get to hear our takes on some of the greatest movies of all time – including, but definitely not limited to: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Godfather, Empire Strikes Back, Jaws, Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid, Pulp Fiction and more!!
