Today being Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment and make today’s post a thank you note to all the people who have been stopping by and supporting my efforts.

I’ve been working pretty hard, but the positive feedback I’ve been getting has really made it worthwhile. Whether it’s through the comments here, through Facebook, or in person, I’ve been getting tons of compliments and encouragement. There’s no doubt that people are checking it out, reading, and enjoying themselves. And that’s been such a great feeling… I honestly never anticipated how cool it would be to run a blog and have it start to take off. It’s been a fantastic, fun experience for me.

None of that happens in a vacuum though, so I really wanted to thank all of you for your contributions.

I have to say, that however much you’ve enjoyed reading the blog, I’ve enjoyed creating it even more. I’ve heard the compliment “I can’t wait to see what you post” (which is a really nice one J ) from a couple of different people, and I have to say… I can’t wait to see what YOU post. I love watching as the comments come in (or conversely, I squirm when they don’t. Seriously, no one likes “On the Waterfront”? Cmon!! LOL). It feels great to make people laugh, or point them to a good movie, hell I even enjoy putting up reviews people disagree with and then having to defend myself. It’s been awesome all around. It’s been a great excuse to watch more movies, and I’m rewatching and learning more about classics I’ve always loved. I’ve been sharing the excitement of this effort with my family and friends, and I’ve met a bunch of new friends online as well as being reunited with some old ones.

(Hear the Peaches and Herb in your heads, Hallsians… just go with it, embrace it)

Flat out though I’ll confess that if this effort hadn’t been meeting with a response, I’d probably have bailed on it by now. I know that sort of thing doesn’t speak well to my character, but it’s true. At the very least I certainly wouldn’t have kept at this kind of tempo if I hadn’t connected with people.

But I have. I really feel as though I’ve got something good going now, and far from being discouraged, I’ve been encouraged. I’m still learning, I’m still growing as a reviewer. I’ll probably always be the same juvenile writer that I’ve always been, but I am learning a LOT about reviewing, that’s for sure. So I think the site will continue to evolve and get better as we go. Plus I’m sure that there will be a lot of new folks to meet stopping by here as the site continues to grow.

The future of FMR is looking pretty bright right now, and there’s lots of cool stuff in store. The Holiday Season has just begun, and so there’s going to be a lot of awesome movies to talk about. Thanks to having a couple extra days off, and lots of big openings this week, I’ll have four reviews up for you between Friday and Saturday, plus of course, an MTESS for Sunday. And year end is right around the corner, so there’ll be a lot of fun year in review stuff coming up before you know it. Tank and I are going to keep the podcasts coming, too.

So stick around, tell your friends, and please! Keep letting me hear your comments and suggestions… I really try to take them to heart in order to make this blog the best that I can for all of us!

But most of all, once again, thank you so much for supporting this blog. It means a lot to me, it really does.

Thanks for the kind words, that’s sweet. Have a happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, but if not, just have a great day!

  3. Hat, tipped.

I agree with everything you say above, and I’m glad you’re writing the blog so I can read it and hang out with you again. Both writing articles and reading and writing comments are a lot of fun.

    Happy Thanksgiving, fun.

  4. Have a great thanksgiving Dan! Thank you for your great blog which provides me with great content and a great community every day and thank you for dropping by AM on such regular basis. You’re the best 🙂

Sir, no, sir! You are sir!

Looking forward to kicking your ass in the fantasy league… (aww, who am I kidding, I have no idea what I’m doing. But I have to keep my persona strong, so…) Yeah. Watch out. There’s a new sheriff in town! 😀

    • Hey man, you’re a blogger too, you know that circling back to old threads is always appreciated! This one isnt even that far back so…

But yeah man, thanks. You know how this crazy movie blogging thing is, to me, its starting to remind me of college, where everybody has their own room, but the doors are always open, and there’s a huge party going on that we all just pop in and and out and visit everyone on the hall, you know? So yeah, glad I wound up getting here and love stopping by your place too, you have more fun stuff than anyone. I was too tired when I ran across your last caption contest. LOL. I was like, duhhhhhhh LOL
