Greetings Freshly Pressed Visitors!

Hello, Freshly Pressed visitors! Thanks for checking out my blog!

I’m glad that you clicked through to the front page to see a little bit more about it beyond the Stallone/Schwarzenegger debate, and I’m sorry – I really am – that I closed that poll before you could vote!

While you’re here though, I hope you’ll find some things you like. I try to review the biggest new releases every week, and post reviews. For example, this last week, I hit all three major releases: “Lockout“, “The Three Stooges” and “The Cabin in the Woods“…

Each week, I take a look back at classics via my series “Movies That Everyone Should See” you can take a look through that category by clicking the link above, or scroll down and have a look at the sidebar on the right for some examples, and just click the posters!

I also co-host a weekly movie podcast! The (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs! You can check that out here… give it a listen, I think you’ll like it!

But the big thrill of my site is trying to get interesting movie discussions going every week! Each week, in my “Tossin’ It Out There” posts, I bring up a movie related topic of discussion, and let people have their say! Click the link above, check out some of the topics, and share your thoughts! We have a GREAT crew of commenters that come through every week, I hope you’ll join in!! 😀

    • I was gonna mention that too, but it is the post right below this one. LOL. Maybe I’ll edit. I whipped this together pretty quick Howie.

Hey, man, last time I was freshly pressed… good things happened. Title Pending was born!

Hoping to get back on the USF cast btw for the comedies podcast! Dont know if Im just turning in a list or being on… 😀

  1. Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed again! Ain’t that just the way though — they freshly press the poll results instead of the poll! Can you imagine how nuts that would have been if the poll itself had gotten pressed? 😀

  2. I can’t believe you got freshly pressed instead of me. Figures. It’s probably just the man keeping me down because I hated “Transformers 2.”

Keep up the good work, though.

      • Oh, I’m sure you’ll give ’em plenty of reasons to do so. Btw, if you’re a fan of Bond, do join in on the discussion about Bond casting 🙂

      • Saw it. Just havent had a chance to get over there. I’ll try to catch up. Been a crazy couple days here, hey.

I do wanna say though, lets get a few mroe movies out of Craig, no? I suppose youre right, maybe by Skyfall he’ll be looking old, but cmon, he’s only had 3!! 😀

    • Heheheh.

      Ya man!

Can you go away more often? LOL

JK. Good to have you back buddy. Saw you tweet the other day how you had just gotten back. Hope you had fun however you were occupying yourself offline… 😀

  3. Congrats, Dan! I am so proud of you. It’s about time you got pressed! LOL You are now playing with the big dogs. Don’t forget us that’s been with you before you got pressed. LOL I joke, but I’m actually serious. 😉

    • Who are you again? LOL

      Cmon, now….

As way of proof that thats just plain silly… this was not my first Freshly Pressed. So there you go. One of my comic-con writeups was pressed real early, I was blogging like a month… and then my Big Lebowski MTESS.

      So I wouldnt forget people…

You have been here before though, right? Trying to place the name….

  4. Congrats on the second Freshly Pressed! I’m secretly glad it happened after the post closed… it might have not been so close! 😉

Now to work on getting that third Freshly Pressed post… who’s it going to be next time, huh, huh?

And look – you made her happy!

    • Just clean that up for you a little… I think only the blogger can post images, I’m not sure.

But she does look so happy there Awwww. 😀 LOL

As to it not being so close? It might not have been, thats true. Hard to tell though. I think already having decided the winner is going to discourage Stallone fans from voting, speaking up, whatever…

And this one was #3, I’ll get to work on #4 though 😉

I do believe actually that was how you found this place no? Be nice to get some folks who make such positive contributions out of this time, too!

      • #3? Your hat trick is complete! What comes after a hat trick?

It was! I can’t remember which post it was, but it was definitely from a Freshly Pressed. You’ll have to hunt down where I didn’t exist here 😉

Thanks for cleaning up all that arsing around I did up there! See, happy Betty face for you on this happy occasion 😀

      • 😀

        It was the Lebowski thread.

My first freshly pressed was really kind of weird. I was seriously ill prepared for it.

Thus this post… hopefully it shows some people what’s what, and they can have a look about. And… if it turns people off cause Im obnoxious, well, better they find out now than later. 😀

  5. Good job on being freshly pressed, Dan! Revel in the traffic spike and cherish it for all your days– that’s what I’ve done after being pressed myself!

    • Yeah, I remember your preview post got pressed like right after the new year, right?

Its a fun few days, you just wind up hoping – at least I always do – that people’ll stick around after, you know? Thats the trick of the whole thing.

      • Definitely Fogs– how do you capitalize on that traffic and make the best use of it? (E.g. how do you retain it.) That’s a tough one to crack. I think what you’ve done here is actually incredibly brilliant, and I wish I’d thought of it one of the two times I got pressed myself. I’m stealing it if there’s a “next time”.

      • You’re more than welcome, although in all honesty, I’m undecided as to whether or not its better NOT to put the post up.

Without it, the visitors actually get a look at what your blog is for what it is…

Anyways, its a discussion better suited for the Lamb Forums or offline in email, where of course, a pow wow about blogging is always welcome! 😀

  6. Congrats on being Freshly Pressed. As another movie buff and child of the 80s, I say the topic was certainly worthy of mass attention.

Nice to see others trying to build a community of visitors/commenters, too. I just launched my blog a few months ago (though it contains years of backlog writing), but have been quiet about marketing it. I’m just about to start guilting more of my friends to subscribe.

    • That’s actually a REALLY good first step. I badgered a LOT of my friends and family into coming and commenting. Was it painful? Oh god yes… but a number of them have stayed on, and that whole process really gave me a head start. Comments, visits etc are a snowballing thing. The more you have, the more you get…

Have you considered joining the Lamb yet?
