Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Funniest Writer!

Lammy-111Funny how?

Just a quick post to let everyone know that FMRΒ has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Funniest Writer. πŸ˜€

I wanted to let everyone know, and to publicly thank everyone who cast a vote for me. The results were extremely close between myself and Runner-Up John LaRue of The Droid You’re Looking For, only ONE vote separated the two of us! Β So to everyoneΒ who voted for FMR, an enormous thank you!!

Congratulations, to John, and alsoΒ to Lady Sati of Cinematic Corner, Vern of Vern’s Video Vangaurd (sic), Dylan Fields of Man I Love Films. Each are very funny writers, do yourself a favor and check out their sites!

Thanks also to Kai Parker, who did a very funny presentation video (below)!

    • Whoa!! Gravatar change!! What happened to Khaleesi? πŸ˜€

Anyways, one can only hope, right? Still a long way to go though, that’s true. Many more envelopes to open, still 😯

  1. Congrats dude. I love reading the reviews on movies you really didn’t want to see. Like your Twilight series. I found them quite hilarious.

    • LOL, I credit them for my victory. That stunt happened right at the right time for consideration here. πŸ˜€ It sucked for that day, but people found it funny right at the right time.

      Thanks Bruce!!

  2. Well I’m pissed.
I’ve tried twice now to become a lammy, but I guess I don’t qualify because I’m not exclusively all about films. Okay, fine. I can handle that. But how can I vote for you and Kevin and Vinnieh if I am not a member? Congrats!

    • Heh. I appreciate the sentiment, Cindy. πŸ˜€

Honestly, I know that that’s a bummer for people. This is my second Lammys season, and I realize the non-Lammys here don’t get to play 😦 I do feel bad that everyone can’t be included.

But I appreciate the comments and the support, of course! That’s the good stuff anyways πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  3. And to think you’re only half as funny on the page as you are in person! LOL!
I still think you’re a lock for your great Comic-Con coverage. If not, I demand a recount! Con-grats Daniel, two years, but off the O-fer!

    • Funny how?

Yeah, no 0-fer this year! Whoo hoo! πŸ˜€

I have high hopes for Convention Coverage, too, that’d be great. It’d be a nice payoff for all the grief of lugging cameras around the Con, live tweeting, staying up late to do write ups, etc. Of course, nothing comes easy with these things, there’s stiff competition in that category, too. And I have the disadvantage of not being at an actual film fest, so… 😯

We’ll see though, buddy, we’ll see. A full week of highs and lows ahead, still nice to break through and win one!! πŸ˜€

  4. Hopefully it means “funny” as in “funny ha ha” and not “funny” as in “every single movie with the word somewhere in the title”… because all of those are kinda depressing.

    Anyway, congratulations!

    • LOL… The “Funny how” was of course a reference to one of my all time favorite scenes from Goodfellas, just in case you weren’t sure πŸ˜‰

Anyways, Thanks!! πŸ˜€ You’re right, btw, movies that actually say “Funny” typically are not πŸ˜‰

    • LOL. It’s the audience that brings out the best in me Gelf, it really is. ANDREW GELFMAN, ladies and gentlemen, he’ll be here all week! [Ta dum tschhhh] LOL πŸ˜€

Thank you kind sir, I appreciate it. πŸ˜‰
