Fogs’ Movie Reviews has won the 2013 Lammy Award for Best Blog!

Best Blog

Wow. 😯

It’s been an incredible week or so, here. And now there’s no ifs ands or buts left. FMR has just been awarded the Big Kahuna of the Lammys, Best Blog for 2013.

I understand that a lot of people would presume it was a foregone conclusion considering the run of success leading up to it, but in all honesty, I sweated it out to the very last second. I’m honored, grateful, stunned still, and relieved now… It’s amazing. I’m having trouble processing it.

I’m blown away by the success I’ve had this award season. It means a lot to me to see that so many people are willing to cast votes for me across the boards. I honestly had no idea I had that much support out there. THANK YOU ALL, IT’S AN INCREDIBLE HONOR!

I’m happy to put this behind us now, cause I’ve certainly been asking a lot of people these past couple of days. I know that all these posts have tested the bounds, but I think the Lammys are worth celebrating, and I just… didn’t expect to be celebrating so much! 😯 Tomorrow we’ll resume our regularly scheduled content, honest.

Congratulations also to Runner Up And So it Begins, and to all the other nominees: 3 Guys, 1 Movie, The Velvet Café, The Droid You’re Looking For, French Toast Sunday, Man I love Films, Flixchatter, Cinematic Corner and The Cinematic Katzenjammer!

Thanks also to Stevee Taylor of Cinematic Paradox (and friend 😀 ) for making a very fun presentation video (below)!

  1. I always said it wouldnt be long before I would be able to say, ‘I knew you when’! You are such a rock solid film resource and dedicated critic with a great community, this award doesnt surprise me in the least! All Hail Fogs!!

    • That’s got a little Cobra Commander vibe to it. LOL

Thanks though, bro, I appreciate the kind words. It’s still “when” now, but I understand the sentiment 😉 Hopefully I can parlay this into something better, we’ll have to see, I do have some things on the burner. 😉

    • You are? Wowza, I must really have impressed you then! 😀

(I didn’t refrain though, see? That was kind of smart ass LOL)

Thank you Ian, I appreciate the fact that so many people notice.

    • Well, obviously I would do it myself. 😉

The symmetry is pretty freaky isn’t it? Its kind of eerie sometimes when I think about it 😯

Anyways, thanks BT. Congratulations to you as well. Still impressed by the shootout that you and Bubba had over Genre Blog. That was crazy! 😀

  2. Congratulation, Again Fogs!

(In menacing Dr. Claw from “Inspector Gadget” voice)
I’ll get you next time Fogs! Next Time!

    Eh, probably not. Congrats again!

We, get to stop congratulating you now, right? Good. That was tiring.

    • Well, by all means, Rodney, please do! LOL 😀

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Im still a bit overwhelmed by it all, but its been very very cool. I do have to say. Thanks for chiming in, man, I do appreciate it.

    • Ha!! Ya, I’ve got attention to spare right now, that’s for sure!! 😮

Thanks for sounding off Ray, you’ve been a huge part of the success here, man. No joke whatsoever, those early brainstorming sessions were invaluable… they really helped me work a ton of stuff out. Bouncing ideas off of you and getting that feedback was something that I bet most other blogs dont have. Seriously, that was a really nice card to have up my sleeve here 😉

  3. Man, you really crushed the competition this year! Congrats, you’re definitely doing something right! I think a victory lap re-watch of the Twilight series is in order! 🙂

    • I laughed out loud when I read that, Will. Thank youuuuuu, NO. 😀

Honestly though, I think that stupid stunt helped me out this year. The timing of it (unintentionally) was pretty perfect, and it really caught a big buzz. 😉

So will I ever do it again with Twilight? No… NO. But something else equally stupid will come along I’m sure.

In other news, thank you, thank you, yes, it was a pretty dominant showing, I have to confess. Still surprised by it, but… it’s pretty awesome, I have to admit 😀
