San Diego Comic-Con 2011: The Floor at last!!

The Floor at last! The Floor at last! Thank God Almighty! The Floor at last!

So! After waiting in line for over two hours – which wasn’t that bad at first, we met this cool chick from Canada who ran all kinds of fan sites and new more about celebs than I do. But then she bailed for the Ballroom 20 line, and Jay bailed for another line, and I was left here alone with my “Beast of Burden Backpack.”

But after all of that… At about 10 o’clock… The frozen line began to move! And once it broke loose it was a mad rush to the floor. Even as I write this, the floor hasn’t filled in.

WiFi has been a hassle. Communication may prove move difficult than anticipated. But here, in the hall as I drink my first decent cup of coffee of the day, it’s pretty good.

I’ll touch base again from the Game of Thrones panel line in a couple of hours…

In the meantime, here are some early pics of attention grabbers on the way in.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011: In Line to Get In!

Greetings from Comi-Con

Blogging LIVE… From a LINE!!!

I took that picture thinking I could rag on those people – you know, Ha! Hall H! Don’t have to start my convention with THAT this year.

But no, that’s the general admission line. We were directed back to it. Gah.

So. Not in yet. No real costumes or anything worth Noting. A Jedi or two, some Star Trek uniforms. Oh, and these dudes.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011: Touching Down, Settling In

Greetings from San Diego.

I’ve been battling WiFi issues all day, so please bear with me. I’m hoping it’s better at the convention center.

Also, working off of an iPad app isn’t exactly the same as being home in front of a computer, in fact, it’s proving to be downright difficult. So if there’s slop involved, please forgive me. At home, I’ve been working hard to try to make the site presentable.

I had a safe, on time flight in. Flying still amazes me… I can’t get over the fact I woke up this morning on the other side of the continent…

San Diego Comic-Con 2011: “Three Things I LOVE About Comic-Con”

Ok. So now that you all realize that Comic-Con isn’t all wine and roses, it’s time to get to the good stuff.

What is it that’s so freaking special anyways?

Why won’t this guy shut up about it? (LOL, good luck)

Read on and I’ll share some of what I feel are the most magical elements about this convention. The things that helped propel it to national recognition and an event worth an expensive cross country trip to attend!

San Diego Comic-Con 2011: “Three Things I HATE About Comic-Con”

So, tonight is Comic-Con preview night. And though I’ll be unable to attend thanks to the Con’s new “Preview Night tickets only on sale onsite last year” policy, I thought it would be good to post a couple of posts to get everyone in the spirit.

I’m prepping these two articles at home before I leave, but there’s a good chance that by the time you read this, I’ll be in the air on my way to San Diego.

So without further ado, I present to you the “Three things I HATE about Comic-Con”

Comic-Con 2011: The Blog Plan

Hello boys and Girls. The time has come to officially announce my plans for this year’s Comic-Con. As those of you who are friends and family know, I’ll be traveling to the convention again this year, except this time, I’ll be trying to capture the event as best I can here on the blog.

The plan is to post live updates via text and iPad, and videos when I get back home on Monday. It’s going to be a lot of hard work, in addition to the hecticness that is Comic-Con. But I know that I’m going to enjoy the process, and I hope that you’ll enjoy the results.

For those of you not interested in the Convention so much, don’t worry! I’ve got a regular slate of material to publish during the period that I’m out there. (Weds the 20th – Sun the 24th). I have another James Bond piece, I’ll be completing my Troll 2 “masterpiece” and I have a “Movie that everyone should see” already ready for next Sunday.

I may even find time to squeeze in a review of “Cowboys and Aliens” or “Captain America” if I’m able to catch either of them!

So please, come back and enjoy the Comic-Con experience with me next week. Leading up to the big day, I plan on putting up an article or two about what the experience has been like for me previously, and what I’m looking forward to out there this year. Keep an eye out for the Comic-Con logo in my posts!!
